If you like British rock bands, The Duke Spirit should be one of those bands you have at the top of your list. We got to do a session with The Duke Spirit at the very beginning of Transistor Six but sadly never got to Film a song on Super 8. Well our prayers were answered and we caught them when they were in town with Jane's Addiction. They have been the road supporting their new album Bruiser (http://amzn.to/Rlawwt) and played Bass Hall here in town a while back. We managed to get them to come by Frank here in Austin on their day off to do a secret show for us. You should have seen the stupid grins on our faces when they said yes.
On the night of the show we sent out a quick message to our socials and in no time the place was packed. Needless to say, the Dukes came out and owned it. Liela, Luke, Toby, Marc and Olly were in top form and gave everyone an amazing night to remember. We got to hang out after the show a bit and they invited us to get some more Super 8 Footage at their show at Bass Hall with Jane's. Really amazing to go from a small 200 person room and then to a 2000 person room the next night. The best part is that the intensity and energy of the show remains the same. The Duke Spirit are the real deal and you should do yourself the favor to see them next time they come to your town.
Luke Ford who plays Guitar in the band is also the Official Lomographer for the Dukes and he was cool enough to take some pictures on tour for us to exclusively feature here.
We also got to take some pictures at the gig as well but there is nothing like seeing the world through the eyes of the band.
Check out the gear we used and if you have questions about shots you can direct them to questions@transistorsix.com . We will feature some of them on our Facebook pages with answers. Please be specific about the photo in question and we will try to get back to you.
